Waters Edge is the flattest of the water-facing spaces, which makes it the easiest to set up. The bank is level grass running right to the dam, so chairs sit square, a bar sits square, and nobody is standing on a slope holding a drink.

The dam is filled with lilies and sits on the southern boundary, away from the working part of the property. Afternoon light comes across the water, which is why this space suits a late-day ceremony, or the cocktail hour after one held somewhere else on somewhere else on site.

It is a contained space rather than a large one. That is a feature for a hundred-odd guests who should feel like they are at one gathering, and a constraint if you are planning something bigger - in which case the Lawn is the space you want.

Before you enquire

How many guests really fit comfortably?
Around 120 seated for a ceremony, or 200 standing, on the indicative figures. Those are calculated from area and are being confirmed against a real layout - talk to us with your actual numbers before you commit.
Is the bank suitable for heels?
It is level mown grass, which is far kinder than contoured ground, but it is still grass. Guests should expect lawn, not paving.
Can we put a marquee or tipi here?
Ask us and we will walk the siting with you. The Lawn is the space set up for marquee events.
Is the dam safe with children present?
It is open water on a level bank, so it needs supervision like any open water. We will talk through fencing, signage and supervision requirements as part of your event planning.
