A bucks or hens day has one real job: give a group of people who mostly do not know each other something to do together that is not standing in a bar shouting. Competition does that in about four minutes, which is why this works better than the pub crawl it usually replaces.

The bucks half day is paintball, axe throwing and archery across four hours: $157.13 a head, 500 paintballs each, and the groom goes free with ten or more paying. Groups run from eight to twenty-four. One person books and pays for the whole group, and the buck gets marked out - different cammo, different bandana, and a target on his back all afternoon.

Hens groups usually take the Mega Combo instead: gel blasting, axe throwing and archery across four hours at $146.58 a head. Same day, same arena, without the paintball bruises.

It is five minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport and ten from the Maroochydore and Mooloolaba strips, so the group flies in, does something worth photographing, and is back in town before dinner.

Mega Combo - the hens day

Gel blasting + axe throwing + archery

The one hens groups book. Gel blasting stings less than paintball, nothing stains, and everyone is still presentable for the night. Add full cammo for $15.82 a head. Archery from 8, axe throwing from 12.

Bucks & hens FAQ

Can we bring alcohol to the session?
No. XperiencesHQ is an alcohol-free site - not before, not during, and not after gameplay. That applies to the axe throwing lanes and to every other activity at Twin Waters. Our mobile bar operates at other venues, so drinks are for wherever the group heads next.
How far in advance should we book a bucks group?
Bookings close 48 hours before the day. Weekends fill fast, so three to six weeks ahead is sensible, especially for groups over twelve.
What is the minimum group size?
Eight players for the half day, up to twenty-four.
How much do the packages cost?
The half day is $157.13 a head and the groom goes free with ten or more paying - a group of ten plus the groom is $1,571.27. One person books and pays for the whole group.
What if some of the group do not want to be shot at?
Axe throwing and archery are the answers. The Axe & Archery Combo is entirely target-based, so nobody is forced onto the paintball field.
How far is it from town?
About five minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport and ten from Maroochydore and Mooloolaba - close enough that a group flying in can go straight there.
Do we get the field to ourselves?
No - the field is never booked privately. If another group is on at the same time, you are all on the field together.
Does it work for hens as well as bucks?
Yes. Most hens groups take the Mega Combo - gel blasting, axe throwing and archery, $146.58 a head - and axe throwing is the activity those groups ask for by name. The paintball half day is there if the group wants it.
