This is a creek, not a feature pond. It runs 100 metres through the property and widens from about 12 metres to 30 metres along the way, which gives you two distinct settings on one hire - a narrow, enclosed section under canopy, and an open stretch with sky above it.

The practical advantage is what sits next to it. The creek flows on into the Lawn, so a creek-side ceremony walks through to a reception rather than loading guests back into cars. Photographers get the water, the bank and the open lawn light within a few minutes of each other.

The bank is slightly contoured rather than flat, which reads well in photographs and needs a little thought for seating. Chairs go on the level ground back from the water's edge.

On foot. The creek adjoins the Lawn, which is where most receptions are held.
