Gel blasting on the Sunshine Coast, on a field that was actually built for it. Forts, a downed aircraft, close-quarter battle zones and cover lines across the whole arena - so games have structure and flanks and choke points, rather than being two lines of people shooting at each other across a paddock.

Gel balls are water-based and burst on impact. Nothing stains, nothing needs scrubbing out, and the sting is a fraction of paintball's. That combination is why it works for eight-year-olds, for teenagers who play tactical games on a screen and want the real version, and for corporate groups who have to be presentable afterwards.

Sessions are guided throughout. Our staff run the game modes, manage the safety brief and keep rounds moving - the difference between a great session and a flat one is almost entirely game design, and that is the part we do.

Field entry for players with their own blaster, safety glasses, gels and gas. Not a session - the field is live from 1:00pm to 5:30pm on Saturdays and you can play all of it or half an hour of it. Endless ammunition or endless gas refills $10.55 each if you would rather not carry your own.

One player, everything supplied - blaster, endless gel balls, gas, safety glasses and a game host. A two-hour session starting at 1:00pm or 3:30pm.

Prices include GST and the online booking fee charged when you book online. Book by phone and the fee does not apply.

How it plays

Game modes

Capture the flagThe classic. Two bases, one objective, immediate teamwork or immediate chaos.
Defend the fortOne team holds the structure, the other takes it. Then swap and see who did it faster.
Predator vs preyUneven teams, uneven odds. The best format for mixed ages and abilities.
Last team standingNo respawns. Quiet, tense, and over faster than anyone expects.
EscortMove an objective across the field while the other team stops you.

Before you come

Essential info & safety

Enclosed shoes are mandatory.
All ages - everyone plays in the same game.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times on the field.
Gels are water-based - clothing gets damp, not stained.
Long sleeves reduce the sting; most regulars wear them.
Bring insect repellent and a water bottle.
Arrive 15 minutes early for the brief and fitting.

Frequently asked questions

How is gel blasting different from paintball?

Gel balls are water-based and burst on impact, so nothing stains and there is nothing to clean off. The sting is much lighter too. Gel suits younger and mixed groups; paintball suits people who have opted in to being hit properly.

What is the minimum age?

There isn't one. Gel blasting is all ages, and everyone plays in the same game - which is why it is the one families book first.

Can I bring my own blaster?

Yes. Own-gear field entry is $31.64 and you can come and go any time between 1:00pm and 5:30pm on Saturdays. If you would rather turn up empty-handed, gear supplied is $89.64 for one, $316.36 for four or $685.45 for ten.

Does it hurt?

It stings briefly and stops. Long sleeves reduce it further, which is why most regular players wear them.

Will it stain our clothes?

No. Gels are water-based - clothing gets damp and dries. That is the main practical advantage over paintball.

Can you run it at Tuchekoi?

No. Gel blasting requires a permitted range and Tuchekoi does not have one. It runs at Twin Waters. Archery and small-sided games are the equivalents that travel.
